Chiropractic Tip: Add Years to Your Life with Exercise

picture of senior outdoorsSee how, at any age, you can build fitness, boost wellness, and enjoy enduring energy and vitality.

Harvard researchers on health.harvard.edu tell us regular exercise lessens the likelihood of heart disease, lowers blood pressure, reduces the risk of many cancers, builds bones, lifts your spirits, keeps your brain sharp, and can add years to your life.

Then they ask what stops us from exercising?

Are we too busy, or do we feel exercise has to be in the gym or done at a certain time? Or maybe it is a question of how to get started and how to make it an integral part of the day.

Whatever the reasons you may be exercising less than you would like, start working on it and keep going. Slipping in an early morning set of stretches, or a brisk walk before breakfast, could be a great starter.

Going for a short walk at lunchtime or using morning and afternoon breaks to do a short yoga session could be a way to make exercise happen daily.

Taking an evening walk after dinner with your kids could keep your whole family healthier.

If you keep trying out different exercises and different times, eventually you will find combinations that feel completely natural. Those are the ones that you are likely to keep.

I have seen family outings that fit the parents and the kids become lasting ways to stay fit. Camping, fishing, hiking, sailing, and skiing are all great exercise outlets that can leave a trail of great memories.

As you work on the exercise mission, don’t forget to include your chiropractor in the loop.

Visiting the Chiropractor

Chiropractors believe wellness and routine chiropractic care should be as basic to our lives as healthy diets and daily exercise.

They offer the purest form of chiropractic care, providing full spinal adjustments using the diversified technique to check for subluxations, which are misalignments of one or more vertebrae in the spine and/or the joints.

When the misalignment is corrected, it may have far reaching effects on back, neck and sciatica pain.

It may also help with allergies, TMJ, arthritis, headaches and migraines.

If this sounds like a plan that will help keep you active, check out The Joint Chiropractic. The Joint simplifies life, eliminating the hassle of appointments and insurance with walk-in appointments and an affordable pricing plan, so everyone can get the care they need.
